Atlas, son of Iapetus and the nymph Clymene, leader of the Titans, led the rebellion against Zeus and, as punishment, was condemned to hold the celestial vault on his shoulders forever. There are many legends that orbit around this man so strong being able to hold back the enormous celestial vault to keep it separated from the earth and preserve the balance of the universe, and to which mathematical and astrological knowledge is also attributed. The creation of the Atlas figure requires a set of 12 molds, from which the individual porcelain parts that compose it are extracted. To intensify the strength of this divinity, we chose not to apply any other color other than that given by the carefully considered touches of golden luster and iridescent metallic enamels of the sphere.
